Requirements: 

• Candidates must be native English speakers.
• Candidates must be passport holders of any of the following countries: United States, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
• Non-native speakers can be screened and accepted as long as they hold an EU passport and have at least a C1 level of English. Must see an intro video at signup to confirm eliglibility.

• Bachelor’s degree not required.
• High school diploma required (or you must be able to obtain one before starting the programme).
• Age requirement:
  • Applicants must be 21–40 years old.
  • Applicants aged 41–59 may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Tattoo policy: Minor, visible tattoos may be accepted but must be disclosed during the application process and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Applicants must be willing to commit for at least 12 months.
• Applicants must be in good physical and mental health.
• Applicants must have no criminal history.

Yes. A university degree is not required to join the programme or to be considered for teaching positions in Cambodia. Non-degree holders are eligible and can successfully secure employment after completing the TEFL certification.

Yes, applicants from EU countries who are non-native English speakers are welcome to apply. However, all applicants undergo a thorough screening process. As teaching positions require strong spoken English, candidates should demonstrate excellent English proficiency with an accent that is as close to native-level as possible. Applicants with a strong or easily distinguishable non-native accent may not meet the requirements for placement.

Applicants for a teaching position must provide proof of a completely clear criminal record, including the highest level of background check and verification against the sex offender register, in order to confirm their eligibility to work with vulnerable groups such as minors.

In addition, local requirements specify that:

• Federal Level check, with full name (all names exactly as in passport)
• No older than 6 month at the time of visa application (about 1-2 months before they arrive
• USA – FBI Identity Summary Check
• UK – Basic DBS Check
• Australia – NPC – National Police Check Criminal Records Check
• Canada – RCMP – Royal Canadian Mounted Police
• Ireland – An Garda Vetting
• New Zealand – CRC – Criminal Record Check
• South Africa – PCC – Police Clearance Certificate

Our local partner guarantees a paid job placement in a local school. Please note that recruitment and school hiring are subject to seasonal demand. Consequently, the signing of an employment contract and the commencement of teaching duties may take longer than 30 days if the completion of the TEFL/TESOL course, orientation, and/or the participant’s arrival coincides with a school break period.
As a consequence, specific job placement timelines cannot be guaranteed, and clients are advised to budget accordingly.

If a teacher applying to a position offered by our local partner fails three interviews or declines a high-quality placement opportunity, Angloville and its local partner shall be deemed to have fully discharged their obligation with respect to the guaranteed placement.

Salary: $800 – $1,500 per month for non degree holders
$1,000 – $1,600 for degree holders

Yes. Shared accommodation is included in the programme fee. Participants who prefer a private room can request one for an additional charge: USD 18 per night.

During the 120-hour TESOL course, participants spend two full days teaching in a local school. This provides approximately 10–12 hours of combined classroom observation and supervised teaching practice.

The Turing Scheme is a UK government initiative that provides funding for students to study and work abroad, offering a unique opportunity to gain international experience. Open to students at all levels—schools, colleges, universities, and vocational training—the scheme enables participants to enhance their skills, broaden their horizons, and boost employability.

2. Contact Your Institution: Reach out to the Mobility or International Exchanges department or international office at your school, college, or university to express your interest and confirm your eligibility.
3. Prepare Your Application: Your institution will guide you through the application process, including submitting necessary documentation, such as a personal statement, academic records, and a proposed plan for your study or work abroad.
4. Funding and Support: If your application is successful, the Turing Scheme will provide funding to cover your costs, including travel, accommodation, and living expenses.
