Winter Hiking

For those who love to trek through nature, you’re truly spoiled for choice of hiking options in Poland. The Slowinski national park offers seaside views, dunes, forests, and breath taking lakes to its visitors. There are trails of varying difficulty to suit hikers of all levels. Alternatively, many visitors head to scenic Zakopane in the south of Poland to hike the Tatra Mountains. Nearby you will also find Sudety mountains – great for spotting wildlife.

Be sure to pack decent shoes so you can really enjoy your experience of getting back to nature!

Winter Sports

Poland is somewhat of a hidden gem when it comes to snow sports. You get all the slopes, ski resorts, and winter wonder you could wish for – without the expense of other more well known destinations. The most popular areas with the best facilities are Zakopane and the Beskidy mountains. These are some of the most traditional skiing areas that offer modern facilities, local charm, and are popular for both international events and local visitors.

Zakopane is located on the Tatra mountains and is home to many popular runs including the famous 7km long run between Kasprowry peak to the Gąsienicowa Meadow. Here you’ll also find charming historical villages for you to explore.

The Beskidy resorts offer facilities of the same or higher standard than the most popular European resorts. The resorts in Jaworzyna Krynicka or in Wierchomla are of particular note, and can be enjoyed by boarders and skiers alike!

If you don’t want to head this far away from the major cities, why not head to the major cities of Poznan (Malta Park – don’t let the name fool you) or Warsaw (Szczesliwice park) where you’ll find modern, artificial slopes ready for all of your snowsport needs
