Here are the qualifications needed to participate:

• Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
• Candidates must be passport holders of any of the following countries: United States, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
• Applicants must be willing to commit for at least 12 months.
• Applicants must be in good physical and mental health.
• Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 65.
• Applicants must have no criminal history.

Applicants for a teaching position must provide proof of a completely clear criminal record, including the highest level of background check and verification against the sex offender register, in order to confirm their eligibility to work with vulnerable groups such as minors.

In addition, local requirements specify that:

• Person’s name as it matches their name on their passport
• Date on the check should be no older than 3 months by the time they arrive in Vietnam
• US applicants: state level check or FBI check
• UK applicants: DBS check
• Australian applicants: AFP National Police Check
• New Zealand: Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check
• Irish Applicants: Garda Vetting
• Canadian Applicants: Royal Canadian Mounted Police checks

Our local partner guarantees a paid job placement in a local school. Please note that recruitment and school hiring are subject to seasonal demand. Consequently, the signing of an employment contract and the commencement of teaching duties may take longer than 30 days if the completion of the TEFL/TESOL course, orientation, and/or the participant’s arrival coincides with a school break period.
As a consequence, specific job placement timelines cannot be guaranteed, and clients are advised to budget accordingly.

If a teacher applying to a position offered by our local partner fails three interviews or declines a high-quality placement opportunity, Angloville and its local partner shall be deemed to have fully discharged their obligation with respect to the guaranteed placement.

What salary should I expect?
As a TEFL teacher in Vietnam, you can expect to earn between USD 1 400 – 1 600 per month. All contracts are for a minimum of 12 months and are renewable, offering you both stability and the chance to extend your experience.

• GBP: 1 150 – 1 315 per month.
• EURO: EUR 1 300 – 1 490 per month.

How does this compare to the cost of living?
Living costs in Vietnam are significantly lower than in most Western countries. Monthly expenses for rent, food, transport, and leisure typically range between USD 600 – 900, depending on your city and lifestyle. With housing often included or heavily subsidised by employers, most teachers are able to save USD 500 – 800 per month, while still enjoying a comfortable lifestyle, from dining out regularly to exploring Vietnam’s vibrant culture and travel opportunities.
