🗓️ Duration of the programme

Angloville London “Must-See” Junior programmes last 6 days & 5 nights, from Monday to Saturday.

  • Start: On Monday, at 8:00 AM, you will spend your first night at our venue.
  • End: On Saturday, at 6:30 PM, please note that the Saturday night is not covered at our venue.

🤩 Education and fun activities

Angloville designed this English language immersion programme with the aim of catering to ambitious English learners from various parts of Europe who are eager to enhance their English language proficiency. For these young English-learners (12-18 YO), our programme offers an excellent opportunity not only to prepare for oral exams or study abroad but also to forge meaningful connections with interesting peers, develop intercultural communication skills, and explore London while gaining insights into English culture and traditions.

Angloville is not a volunteering opportunity but a cultural and language exchange between local and international participants. We have scheduled and structured your day with a balance of educational and fun activities.

What would be my role?

Your role is simply to participate in fun sightseeing activities (city tours, day trips, etc) and interact with 6-8 English learners, all activities are conducted entirely in English. No teaching experience is required!

Our approach doesn’t involve formal classroom teaching or the use of textbooks. Instead, we immerse ourselves in London, creating real-life situations in a laid-back and secure environment that encourages English language practice. Like the thousands of participants before you, you can expect to walk away with new friendships and lifelong memories.

What to see and visit?

Our London “Must-See” program offers participants an amazing adventure in the heart of Anglo-Saxon culture. During the program, we will visit the center of London and discover Big Ben, explore Leicester Square, Westminster, the London Eye, visit the Natural History Museum, and much more.

Additionally, we will take you on an educational journey to the universities of Cambridge and Oxford. We will also spend a day seaside, admiring the amazing city of Brighton.

Local Guide Tips

✈️ When to arrive in London, the departure city

Angloville advises International Participants to arrive 1 day in the London before the programme starts. To arrive at the meeting city, we recommend: www.skyscanner.com to look for some good flight deals. Budget airlines within Europe (Wizz air and Ryanair) do have some great deals for the upcoming months, with fares starting from £30!

You can book your return flight for the last day of the programme, but make sure you will be flying from the departure city, not earlier than 23:00. Generally, our participants prefer to book their return flight the day after the programme to enjoy a good night’s sleep before flying.

We will include all the important information in an info-pack (2-3 weeks before the programme starts).

🏨 Where to stay before or after the programme

We recommend you to arrive 1 day before the programme starts, which means you will have to book the accommodation yourself. The area of Ealing is a very good option, as our venue is loacted in that district of London. Angloville only provides the accommodation for the duration of the programme. If you decide to complete a three-week package with Angloville, booking the accommodation between the programmes will also be your responsibility.

We suggest Couchsurfing (for a free accommodation), HostelWorld and Booking.com (for a bed in a dorm or a cheap hotel deal), or AirBnB (for a private room or a flat to share).

🧳 What to pack

Packing for a trip to the UK can be a bit tricky, as the weather can be quite unpredictable.

Winter programmes

Ensure you pack warm clothing like thick sweaters, thermal tops, and long-sleeve shirts for layering and added warmth. Don’t overlook a good quality winter coat or jacket, and consider waterproof outerwear to stay dry during wet weather. Winter accessories are a must, so remember to include scarves, gloves, and a hat or beanie for extra coziness and protection from the cold. Don’t forget to bring a daypack or bag to carry your essentials while exploring the city. And of course, pack an umbrella as London often experiences frequent rain, making a compact umbrella essential for your trip.

Summer programmes

Generally speaking, you should pack for both warm and cool weather. T-shirts, tank tops, and blouses are great for warmer days, but bring a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. The UK is known for its frequent rain, so it’s always a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket or umbrella. There’s a lot to explore during our programme, so bring comfortable shoes that you can walk in all day.

Important

Don’t forget to pack all the essentials like your passport, travel insurance, and any other necessary travel documents. Also, it’s a good idea to have some cash and credit cards for shopping, snacks, and other extra activities. If you’re coming from a country with a different type of electrical outlet, you’ll need to bring an adapter plug to charge your devices.
