Angloville designed this English language immersion programme with the aim of catering to ambitious English learners from various parts of Europe who are eager to enhance their English language proficiency. For these young English-learners (12-18 YO), our programme offers an excellent opportunity not only to prepare for oral exams or study abroad but also to forge meaningful connections with interesting peers, develop intercultural communication skills, and explore London while gaining insights into English culture and traditions.

Angloville is not a volunteering opportunity but a cultural and language exchange between local and international participants. We have scheduled and structured your day with a balance of educational and fun activities.

🏨 Where to stay before or after the programme

If you decide to complete a three-week package with Angloville, booking the accommodation between the programmes will also be your responsibility.

We suggest Couchsurfing (for a free accommodation), HostelWorld and Booking.com (for a bed in a dorm or a cheap hotel deal), or AirBnB (for a private room or a flat to share).

🧳 What to pack

Packing for a trip to the UK can be a bit tricky, as the weather can be quite unpredictable.

Winter programmes

Ensure you pack warm clothing like thick sweaters, thermal tops, and long-sleeve shirts for layering and added warmth. Don’t overlook a good quality winter coat or jacket, and consider waterproof outerwear to stay dry during wet weather. Winter accessories are a must, so remember to include scarves, gloves, and a hat or beanie for extra coziness and protection from the cold. Don’t forget to bring a daypack or bag to carry your essentials while exploring the city. And of course, pack an umbrella as London often experiences frequent rain, making a compact umbrella essential for your trip.

Summer programmes

Generally speaking, you should pack for both warm and cool weather. T-shirts, tank tops, and blouses are great for warmer days, but bring a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. The UK is known for its frequent rain, so it’s always a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket or umbrella. There’s a lot to explore during our programme, so bring comfortable shoes that you can walk in all day.

Important

Don’t forget to pack all the essentials like your passport, travel insurance, and any other necessary travel documents. Also, it’s a good idea to have some cash and credit cards for shopping, snacks, and other extra activities. If you’re coming from a country with a different type of electrical outlet, you’ll need to bring an adapter plug to charge your devices.
