All of Angloville’s cultural exchange opportunities are organised by Angloville International Ltd*. which organises programmes in Poland, Hungary, Romania and Czech Republic. Each individual programme is coordinated by a local Angloville branch catering to that specific country or region. This means that you will interact with Polish participants in Poland, Hungarian participants in Hungary, and so on.
By spending time with locals, you are not only exposed to the culture of the country you are in, but also learn how someone with that specific mother tongue learns English. People from different linguistic backgrounds learn differently, as their native language may impact how easily they adapt to and understand English pronunciation, sentence structure, grammar, accents, and more. Many of our English-speaking participants choose to do programmes in multiple countries, which is a great way to get the sort of varied experience that can prepare you to teach English all over the world.
Our Junior programmes in Malta, England, and Ireland are the only ones where you will interact with English learners of multiple nationalities. (Note: Only our Junior programmes take place in these three countries).

Isn’t it nice to have personalised support? This is what Angloville offers throughout our recruitment process, as we believe that it makes the experience quicker and more pleasant.
On your first telephone call with Angloville, you will speak with one of our recruiters who will then guide you throughout the entire process as a personal advisor. This individual will learn all about your specific needs and preferences. They will make sure you receive the very best support, helping you clear up any questions, doubts, or concerns that may arise as quickly as possible.
Your personal advisor is always the best person to contact for any questions or issues.
We do not provide visa support of any kind. We also strongly advise you to contact your local embassy of the country you will be visiting for any questions. They will be able to provide you with the most current information about visas, travel restrictions and conditions, and any documents you need before departure.

At Angloville, we create an environment where everyone speaks entirely in English. We invite participants from all over the English-speaking world who are willing to share their language and culture. They come from different professional backgrounds and represent various age groups. They can be social workers, students, teachers, social activists, economists, etc. The age of our participants typically ranges from university age to people of about seventy years old. Since our objective is to expose the local participants to as many different accents and characters as possible, we aim to have a diverse group of interesting people representing different environments with lots of experience and stories to tell. Would you love to share your culture and converse with non-English speakers as they practice their language skills? Then the ideal English-speaking participant certainly might be you!
Yes – as long as your English is at a near-native level. You need to be able to complete all written assignments and teaching practice requirements to the University of Cambridge standards. We advise that non-native speakers have a language level of IELTS 7 (or equivalent).
Due to the quality of the course, the cost is higher than the TEFL course. However, it is possible to get funding! Please, check with your government about whether they offer this type of help. If you live abroad, you can also be eligible for financial help in the country you live in or in the country in which you plan on doing the CELTA course.

Yes, but it usually means that you will not get a refund. In some special cases, your institution may allow you to change the date of your course.
Yes, previous experience is not required
CELTA is designed as an entry-level qualification for trainees with little experience. However, many experienced teachers have taken the qualification in order to improve their teaching skills, provide them with a professional qualification, and improve their overall confidence and English Language Teaching knowledge.
The CELTA absolutely qualifies you to teach children as many of the skills and techniques you will learn can be adapted for use with children. We also run a workshop near the end of the course where we look at the various techniques used specifically for children. The demand for teachers of young learners is very strong, and a CELTA will undoubtedly put you in a position to teach children overseas!
With a CELTA, you can teach anywhere in the world, with the exception of countries where English is the native language. It’s not impossible to get jobs in these countries, but it isn’t what the CELTA qualification was designed for.
No, there is no exam.
According to Cambridge, almost 12,000 candidates take the CELTA course annually, of which 3-5% fail. In 2020, ITTC, our training centre partner, had a 100% pass rate as online CELTA students were better prepared and trained for the new challenges the arose with the worldwide situation.
We recommend arriving at least one day before the start of your programme to attend the free city tour. We also suggest that you arrive in the capital city of the country where the programme is organised (Warsaw, Budapest, Prague, or Bucharest). Travelling between the main cities in the countries where the programmes are organised is easy, stress free and affordable. In many cases, you will not have to book your bus or train seat in advance. Please, be aware that we do not offer the airport transfers and the Angloville bus will pick you up from the meeting point on the first day of the programme. The exact timing and location will be emailed to you a few weeks before the start date. We also advise you to book your return flight the day after the programme ends. This will give you a chance to get some rest before heading home and spend one last evening with your fellow English-speaking participants.
To sum up:
The free city tour is our way of saying thank you for joining us on your programme. Many of you travel to Poland, Hungary, or Romania for sightseeing as well as our programmes. We want to address your needs or plans – hence, the city tour. Joining the tour isn’t mandatory, but it is strongly recommended! In addition to seeing the city, it will give you a chance to meet your fellow participants, ask questions, and get some support if needed! The tour usually starts between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM and ends with a nice cup of coffee with plenty of room for more chatting.
Keep in mind that your lodging is not covered for the evening after the tour in our departure cities. Your free accommodation begins the following day upon arrival at the Angloville venue.
No, Angloville does not provide flights or transport to the departure city of your chosen programme.
Here are some tips on budget travel:
We provide you with transportation by bus between the departure city and the venue. You will receive the day, time and meeting point by email about 2-3 weeks prior to the programme start date. On the morning of the first day of the programme, we will pick up the whole group from the meeting point and aim to arrive at the venue just in time for lunch. On the last day of the programme, the Angloville bus will come to pick you up and take you back to the departure city.
If you are thinking about combining multiple cultural exchange programmes to visit other Central European cities, you will be responsible for booking your transportation between each departure city. Arranging the travel is quite easy and can be done both online and at the ticket office.
Yes. We advise you to arrive a day before the programme starts, which means you will have to book the accommodation yourself. Angloville only provides you with accommodation for the duration of your programme. If you decide to complete a three-week package with Angloville, booking the accommodation between the programmes will also be your responsibility. We suggest you use Couchsurfing (for a free accommodation), HostelWorld and Booking.com (for a bed in a dorm or a cheap hotel deal), or AirBnB (for a private room or a flat to share).
We also have some great partner hotels in a number of departure cities. Check out our offers click here.
We are glad to hear that you would like to prepare for your journey and the experience in advance. Working with well-organised participants helps the recruiters and shows that you are the perfect fit for our programmes. We will send all the details about each of your programmes about 2-3 weeks before they start. The meeting points for the city tour and the departure will not be the same, and it will be your decision whether you book your accommodation near the city centre or the departure point. However, we recommend the city centre as a convenient area for both enjoying the city the day before and making sure you arrive in time for the departure the next day.
Here are some partner hotels that are located right in the heart of the city: click here.
Compare cheap accommodation for before and after your programme on websites such as Hostelworld, Hostels.com, and Booking.com. Angloville has partner hostels in cities such as Budapest and Warsaw. If you want a central location close to Angloville meeting points for a good price, check out Warsaw Hostel Centrum – Warsaw. If you’re in Budapest, you can stay at Marco Polo Ho(s)tel, Maverick City Lodge, or Wombat’s Hostel.
You can find more information about these hostels on our partner hostels page: click here.
The Foundation does not cover personal expenses. The cost of living in Central Europe is probably lower than in your country. It is advised you travel with your Visa/Mastercard credit card, since most stores, restaurants, hotels, and public organisations are likely to accept this method of payment. However, we advise you to bring some cash with you for small expenses:
As much as we would like to help you, due to the number of participants, we are not able to pick you up from the airport. This is why we have designated meeting points. However, we would be glad to give you some tips about taxis, shuttles, public transport (bus, train) from the airport to the city centre or meeting point. Feel free to ask your recruiter or local coordinator.
NOTE: Angloville does not cover your transportation from the airport/train station to the meeting point.
Angloville programmes create an illusion of being away from Poland or Hungary as we only speak English. However, the weather will not change, and you should make sure you pack clothes that are suitable for local conditions. At the same time, we want everyone to feel relaxed while learning and teaching, so casual and comfortable clothes are the best choice. As you will share your room, we suggest that you bring pyjamas or sleeping attire. We will send out all the packing details about 2-3 weeks before your programme starts, and we always make sure to give you enough information about the weather as well as the customs in each country. In addition, some venues have a pool, a sauna, or a spa, so don’t forget your swimming suit! We have a strict policy regarding personal hygiene. The venue and/or Angloville reserves the right to decline access to the facilities (or even to the programme) to any participants breaking the hygiene code.
The age requirements vary depending on the programme. To join us at the Adult programme, you would need to be over 25 years old. To participate in the Junior and Kids programmes, you need to be ideally between 18 and 35 years old. The reason for the age requirements is very simple. We have noticed that participants usually enjoy the programmes more when they are with their peers. Generally, the participants are 20-25 years old on Junior and Kids programmes and 35-55 years old on the Adult programmes.
Last-minute participants are those who are available to join the programme 5 days before the programme starts. We understand that all of us find ourselves in certain circumstances where there is a will or a need for change. If you think and feel that the “last minute participant” term applies to you, please get in touch with us directly and let us know at info@angloville.com. We would really appreciate your participation and readiness to join us on such short notice!
The deposit is a mandatory requirement to participate in an Angloville programme. It is also a way of showing your commitment. In order to book your spot, Angloville will ask you to transfer us a refundable 129 EUR deposit. Don’t worry – this is just a security deposit. Once you have successfully completed our programme, Angloville will refund you 99 EUR (30 EUR will be used for PayPal, bank and admin fees, and all Local Eco & Tourism Taxes).
Angloville doesn’t own the hotels where the programmes are organised and, in case of any no-shows or last minute cancellations, we still have to cover the costs of the participants’ stay. To avoid such situations, we hold the deposit which you receive until the end of the programme.
Please be aware that you need to successfully complete the short Angloville Know-How training before joining the programme as well as the programme itself.
Of course! We all know that travelling with a friend will roughly divide the expenses by two. Join us with a friend, partner, or a relative to share the costs and the experience. We would love to hear from your friend if he or she is a native English speaker as well. All they need to do is submit their application online and let us get in touch with them. The majority of participants who join us with their friends will share a room at the venues. Before you make any arrangements, please get in touch with us to check availability.
Of course you can! Sharing this experience with someone close to you will double the benefits. The support you can get and fun shared is invaluable. Since we value the experience of being together above anything, there couldn’t be a better match! Please note that the minimum age to join Angloville programmes is 18, and for legal reasons we cannot accept underage participants.
People with disabilities are welcome to join us, as long as their disability does not prevent them from fulfilling their role as English-speaking participants. However, not all our venues are adjusted to accommodate people with disabilities and we need to know about your disability in order to find the best venue for you. Your personal advisor will be glad to advise you on the most suitable venues.
While three weeks might not seem like much, we have based the requirement on our experience and are sure that it gives you plenty of time to gather and submit your documents. Also, by sending all your documents in on time, you confirm your participation as well as demonstrate that you are a responsible and trustworthy participant.
Your role will revolve around sharing your language and culture with young people. Therefore, we ask you to provide us with a professional reference. That would be a reference or recommendation confirming your qualification for the position. People who can provide the reference should be able to attest to your work ethic and skills. Letters of reference are usually provided by professors, teachers, or employers.
We require you to purchase health and travel insurance. If you become unwell, we will do our best to ensure that you receive the appropriate medical attention in line with your health insurance. For EU nationals, please obtain a European Health Insurance Card from your GP. If you are travelling from outside of the EU, please check the requirements with health and travel insurance providers in your country.
Providing a clear criminal record check is a legal requirement when working with minors in Europe. We need to make sure we are creating a safe environment for our participants, so we reserve the right to ask for a background check from our Adult programmes participants as well. The background check requirement is a key part of the Health & Safety and Youth Protection Policy. Please allow sufficient time to acquire the document before departure as processing times may vary depending on your country of origin. The document must be issued in English (or with a certified English translation) and have been made within 6 months of your arrival date. Angloville has identified a few organisations that may help you obtain your criminal background check quickly. Note that Angloville bears no responsibility for the quality of the service provided, please use your own judgement.

IMPORTANT: Without the proof of a clear background/DBS check, we will reject your participation in a Junior and/or Kid’s programme with no deposit refund or compensation of any kind.
As an English-speaking participant, you want to make a difference and engage in cultural exchange. As much as we appreciate your participation and are very thankful, there are logistical aspects involved. We book your spot at the chosen venue, send dietary requirements, and book your spot on the free city tour. Sending us your travel booking confirmation shows your commitment and readiness. It is a clear sign that you will definitely join us.
We do not offer any help at getting a visa. We can send a letter as a supporting document, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive the visa.
If you live in a country that requires a visa, please get in touch with your local embassy of your destination country. They will be able to give you the most up to date information about the visa process, travel restrictions and conditions, and the type documents you need to have ready before flying. The infopack is our document which will provide you with all the necessary information you need in order to organise your stay and safely arrive in the country. This document is issued for each programme you have signed for and it is specific: you will find all information about the meeting points and timings. We send them out about 2-3 weeks prior to the start date of your programme. If you are a last-minute participant, don’t hesitate to ask for your infopack from your personal advisor. We have an online general info pack about Poland on our website, which gathers local tips and travel advice – in other words: all you need to know before travelling: click here.
The meeting points are usually in the city centres, near a public transport stop (tram, bus, metro). You will receive all the details 2-3 weeks before the start of your programme in an infopack. If you want your accommodation to be close to your meeting point(s), we recommend the city centre.

Our Angloville buses usually leave in the morning between 6AM and 11AM. We send out all of the details in an infopack 2-3 weeks before your programme starts. Therefore, we advise you to arrive the day before the programme starts. If your programme starts on Friday, the bus may leave around 4PM. In this case, the free city tour takes place on the same day in the morning. IMPORTANT: Please, consult your personal advisor before you book your travel.
On the first day of the programme, the Angloville Bus leaves the city between 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM depending on the location of the hotel venue. You can check the Angloville venues here. Generally, you should be in the base city at 8:00 AM at the latest on the first day of the programme. Please note that detailed information about the meeting point and exact time of departure will be sent to you around 3 weeks before the programme starts.
Example:
The same bus which brought you to the venue will come and pick you up on the last day of the programme. We will leave the venue just after the last speaking sessions and lunch around 1:00 PM. It means that we should be back in the city between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM at the meeting point we initially departed from on the first day of the programme. Please be aware that, due to traffic or unforeseen circumstances, the journey may take a little longer. Therefore we recommend leaving the next day or no sooner than 11.00 PM. Example:
Meat is an important part of the Central European diet, with pork being the most popular. We love sausages and ham but will happily eat a variety of beef dishes as well. These will be served with potatoes or rice. To make sure we get our “five a day”, we always add carrots, red cabbage, beetroot salads, or just types of leaf salads as a side dish. Coleslaw is also quite popular. Here are some most popular dishes:
Are you vegetarian? Vegan? Gluten free? In case of allergies or diet restrictions, please contact your personal advisor and we will help you select the destinations and venues that can best accommodate your needs.
We provide vegetarian and vegan options at most of our venues. Depending on the country and the venue, the options and meals served will vary. Although we try to accommodate our participants the best we can, the vegan option is not available in all countries. If you require a specific diet please contact your recruiter well in advance and discuss the available options.
Halal and kosher food are not common options in Central Europe and they are rarely available, so we recommend choosing the vegetarian option.
You can. Please, let us know about your allergies as soon as possible so that we are able to make sure you will not be exposed to the allergen. In case of allergy or restricted diet, please contact your personal advisor and we will help you to select the destinations and the venues that can best accommodate your needs.
Depending on the type of the programme you will be attending, the conditions will be different.
NOTE: Please read our terms & conditions here.
The aim of the Angloville programme is to create an environment where we all feel that we are living in the same village and are a part of a society. There are two steps Angloville has undertaken in order to achieve this effect. First of all, we want you to see the authentic heart of the host country and enjoy beautiful landscapes; secondly, we want to organise a language immersion experience where all participants speak English, far away from any distractions. Our venues are thus located in the countryside, between 1 to 3 hours away from the departure city. Don’t worry about getting there – the Angloville bus will pick you up and take you to the venue and back.
Yes! You can use any of the hotel facilities that are free of charge (i.e., swimming pools, tennis courts at some hotels, football pitches, volleyball courtes, etc.). Please speak to the hotel’s reception about any of the paid facilities. Your coordinator will be able to help if you have any questions.
Our venues are comfortable 3- or 4-star hotels located in the countryside and surrounded by beautiful landscapes (mountains, forests, lakes, etc). They all offer a variety of facilities that will make your stay enjoyable: outdoor pools, sport pitches (tennis, golf, etc.), sauna, spa, games room, etc. You can find a short description of your hotel with a link to their website here: click here.
Yes. During an Adult programme, you will be sharing your room with another English-speaking participant of the same gender and similar age. During a Kids and/or Junior programme, you will be sharing your room with 1-2 other participant(s) of the same gender and similar age.
IMPORTANT: In some venues, it is possible to request a single room, but you will have to contact us first as we need to check with the hotel and you will have to pay the difference.
This is an option at some venues, although we cannot guarantee anything as it depends on the availability of single rooms. You will have to contact us first and, if the room is available, pay the difference.
The opportunities offered by Angloville are unpaid cultural exchange experiences. In exchange for your participation, you will get:
You can. Please, let us know about your allergy as soon as possible so that we are able to make sure you will not be exposed to the allergen. In case of allergy or restricted diet, please contact your personal advisor and we will help you to select the destinations and the venues that can accommodate your needs at the best.
If you become unwell, we will do our best to ensure that you receive the appropriate medical attention in line with your health insurance. Bear in mind that personal health insurance is mandatory. If you are a European citizen, you can ask for a European Health Insurance Card. We can advise this website: https://www.nhs.uk/
People with disabilities are welcome to join us, as long as their disability does not prevent them from fulfilling their role as a participant. However, not all our venues are adjusted to accommodate people with disabilities and we need to know about your disability in order to find the best venue for you. Your personal recruiter will be glad to advise you on the most suitable venues.
Depending on the type of the programme you will be attending the conditions will be different.
NOTE: Please read our Terms & Conditions carefully here.
Angloville programmes are a place of tolerance and mutual understanding: we value cultural differences, international friendships, and communication. We do not discriminate against anyone because of their beliefs, political views, gender, nationality, race, sexual orientation, etc. As long as your beliefs are not harmful, they are no concern of ours. However, please keep in mind that if you have any special requirements, we may not be able to meet them, especially if your beliefs are not common in the country you will be visiting during the programme.
We do not tolerate bullying. Participants who bully other people will be expelled from our programmes and will not be considered for any future programmes.
IMPORTANT: If you witness bullying during your programme, it is your moral duty as an adult in charge of underage participants to inform the coordinators as soon as possible.
As a participant, you are an adult in charge of minors and a role model for the local participat. You are an educator, and, as such, you cannot tolerate racist, sexist, homophobic, or explicit jokes or bullying of any sort. If you witness any kind of inappropriate behaviour, please contact your coordinator. At Angloville, we go the mile to make sure that you are taken care of and that you are in a safe environment. If you are not happy with the coordinator’s approach, email us at info@angloville.com
We do our best to make your stay with us satisfactory. However, if you are unhappy about any aspect of the programme or your experience, please approach your coordinator to discuss the issues.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of the conversation, please contact your personal advisor or send your feedback to feedback@angloville.com
Angloville does not help you find a job as a teacher. However, we would be glad to provide you with a letter of recommendation: this can be easily obtained from our website. Upon completion of your programmes, please visit REFERENCE LETTER REQUEST, fill out the form, and submit.
In addition, coordinators will give you a programme certificate after each successfully completed Angloville programme.
Finally, there are websites dedicated to TEFL certified teachers, such as https://www.tefl.com/ You can also talk to other participants since many of them work as teachers in various countries and companies. You can meet them on our Past Participants group on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/476339839237427
It couldn’t be easier! Just follow the link, fill out the form, and wait for us to get in touch with you: https://angloville.com/reference/
That’s a great idea! We could use your help to spread the word about Angloville in your school, university, or company. Feel free to email us at info@angloville.com.
If you would like to work with us at our programmes either as a coordinator or an activity leader, please check our website here. One of our representatives will get in touch with you.

Angloville is one of the biggest providers of educational & cultural exchange programmes in Europe. We offer a fun and intercultural experience during which international participants can discover 8+ countries & meet locals.
